What does a Free Foot Assessment include?

During the assessment, we will evaluate your foot structure, stance, alignment of the lower kinetic chain (foot, ankle, knee, hip), and flexibility. The in-person appointments take about 30 minutes and require zero obligation to buy anything. If you were not sent in via doctor referral with specific orders, the assessment helps us determine the potential root cause of your issue/pain and whether or not Custom Foot Orthotics would be appropriate for treatment(sometimes it’s something very simple!). If determined so and you choose to go this route, we take molds of your feet at this time.

Our foot services include:

  • Gait analysis
  • Biomechanical assessment
  • Prescription for Medical-Grade Orthotics
  • Footwear counseling
  • Shoe modifications

Conditions we treat:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Flat Feet
  • High Arch Support
  • Heel pain
  • Bunions
  • Neuroma
  • Neuropathy
  • Post-tibial tendon dysfunction
  • Burning feet
  • General Foot Pain

Meet Our Provider

Rebecca Kalinich, CPO, MSOP

After completing undergraduate work at the University of Mary Washington and receiving her Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics at Eastern Michigan University, Rebecca completed her Orthotics residency at Atlantics P&O in Chapel Hill, NC and her Prosthetics Residency at Pacific Medical here in Boise. Discovering she had a special interest in the field of orthotics, she looked to join the Foot Dynamics team. After completing 1 year of training under our now retired practitioners, C.Ped Jeff Radke and Podiatrist Janice Farren, she is beyond capable to handle anything thrown her way.

Knowing how the feet influence the whole body, Rebecca’s goal is to help people maintain an active lifestyle whether you are a high level athlete or just living day to day.

Better orthotics than I got from my doctor

I just received your cycling orthotics and I absolutely love them! I have been dealing with foot issues in both feet for 3 years now. I have tried a half-dozen other orthotics, spending hundreds of dollars. And I have to say, the cycling ones I received from you aligned to my feet better than even the orthotics I got from the doctor, from the shoe store that did a computer outline of my foot, and over-the-counter.

The reason I am writing is because I am interested in receiving a second pair from you. Since I have always been a very active person, I have only been able to swim since I have developed foot pain. But now you have given me hope that I can cycle as well.

Thank you from a customer who’s been searching forever for a great orthotic!!

You are professional, polite, produce a great product!

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that you are great to deal with.

I’ve only worn the orthotics for one day, but they seem to be exactly right and the service was extraordinary.

You are professional, polite, produce a great product and you delivered quicker than I expected.

I am happy to recommend you

The best Orthotics I’ve ever gotten

I liked mine a lot. I have used insoles since I was about 12, and these are by far the best ones I’ve ever gotten.

100 for Rebecca Kalinich

First, there are not enough stars; I wish I could give 100 for Rebecca Kalinich at Foot Dynamics. Rebecca is amazing! I was referred to Foot Dynamics by Elizabeth Cablik, NP-C, from Catalyst Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Institute. Rebecca checks my feet and my shoes, and also observes how I walk.

For the first time in over 25 years of getting orthotics made and spending thousands of dollars on them, Rebecca quickly pointed out that those orthotics were not really doing much for me and that there was NO correction either. To say I was floored is an understatement. After talking with her, I began to realize why I was having issues with my knees and broken toes from stress fractures on toes that are rarely broken. No one— and I mean not a single other foot doctor— mentioned all the things she saw and how she was going to make orthotics that truly correct and support me for hiking, backpacking, and walking.

After waiting a week for my first pair of orthotics from Rebecca, when I tried the new orthotics that Rebecca had made, the smile and amazement on my face were very clear; you would have thought I won the lottery, which I did—the feet lottery!

It was completely amazing, and the difference was very noticeable. Rebecca stated I should feel a difference in hiking and walking and should see an improvement in performance and endurance, as I am now walking the way I should have always been. Thank you so much, Rebecca! I will see you next week when I get the other pairs of orthotics specifically for Backpacking and Hiking.

Shoes and inserts made an immediate improvement

All I can say is, WOW! I had plantar fasciitis to the point I almost had to crawl out of bed. I saw a podiatrist first and was doing all the exercises he recommended with only marginal improvement after 2 months. Several friends recommended Foot Dynamics so I went with low expectations. The shoes and inserts made an immediate improvement. After only a couple of weeks I was much better and after a month I am experiencing no pain at all. Thank you, Rebecca!

Q&A

Q: What are Medical-Grade, Prescription Orthotics?

Medical-grade orthotics are specialized shoe inserts or insoles designed for an individual's serious foot problems. They are highly crafted from quality materials and custom-made to fit an individual's unique foot shape. When made right, they alleviate pain, improve posture, correct foot deformities, and enhance overall foot function. We make our medical-grade orthotics in our lab in Boise, giving us a degree of customization that is unavailable elsewhere.

Our custom orthotics include a 90-day comfort, fit, and performance warranty.

Medical-grade orthotics can treat flat feet, plantar fasciitis, bunions, arthritis, and diabetic foot complications. Orthotics also address various foot conditions or biomechanical issues, providing support, stability, and alignment to the feet and ankles. Prescription Medical-grade orthotics are more effective in addressing foot pain, correcting gait abnormalities, and improving overall foot function. Prescription orthotics include many corrective elements that are not available in mail-order orthotics.

Q: What is a Pedorthist?

A pedorthist is a foot care specialist with extensive training in treating foot or ankle issues via footwear, orthotics, or modification. They are trained to assess and analyze the biomechanics of a person's feet and lower limbs to determine any abnormalities or conditions requiring specialized footwear or orthotics. A pedorthist also works closely with patients with injuries, diabetes, arthritis, flat feet, bunions, plantar fasciitis, and more.

Q: Why Would You See a Pedorthist?

Why see a pedorthist? Because your feet hurt! Our job is to use orthotics to help manage common foot ailments like plantar fasciitis, neuromas, neuropathies, and bunions.

A pedorthist is crucial in improving foot and lower limb health, enhancing comfort, and preventing future problems by providing personalized solutions tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

A pedorthist can also assess biomechanical problems and provide custom-made orthotic insoles or shoe modifications to correct these issues and prevent further problems. People with diabetes are at a higher risk of foot complications due to neuropathy and poor circulation. A pedorthist can help individuals with diabetes select suitable footwear and orthotics to prevent ulcers, blisters, and other diabetic-related foot problems. Arthritis in the feet and ankles can lead to pain and reduced mobility. Pedorthists can design orthotic devices and recommend footwear that provides foot support and reduces pressure on affected joints. After a foot or lower limb injury, such as a sprained ankle, stress fracture, or tendonitis, a Pedorthist can assist with rehabilitation by providing supportive footwear or orthotic devices to aid in the healing process and prevent further injuries.
